My life is art. I have drawn since I was 5, trained at Wellington Polytech and Natcoll in Christchurch. I have worked in ad agencies & freelanced in Melbourne, but I prefer to work in an intuitive, co-creative way to help you achieve a result that is empowering and representative.

As well as being a graphic designer I am a commercial, exhibiting & performance artist: circus, singer/songwriter, comedy. I also write poetry & story & work with sound.

SmartArts was established in 1999. Initially I designed books for publishers
(I love books), then corporate image design: logos, publicity, brochures.

Illustrations range from watercolour, acrylics, pen & ink to Photoshop and vector-based FreeHand for web or cd/dvd, taken into Flash for animation.

SmartArts is run from my home studio, so as to keep overheads low and to be available for my family.

I occasionally take overflow work from busy agencies.
